Client: TACTRAN, UK
Year: 2014 – Ongoing
GoToo was launched in early 2015 as a comprehensive update to the TactranConnect website originally designed by Steer Davies Gleave in 2010.
GoToo addresses changes in technology and user expectations – in particular the growth in use of personal mobile devices. Brand visioning workshops with key regional stakeholders – and subsequently tested with over 1000 students, visitors and local citizens - informed the creation of the GoToo brand aimed to reposition the site to extend it’s appeal to a wider audience including the significant numbers of tourists who visit the region each year.
User mapping underpinned a restructured site architecture based on three core needs: commute – explore – visit. With Commute content tailored to support local day-to-day trips and Visit or Explore integrated with visitor information from Visit Scotland to communicate the region’s broader offer.
GoToo is based on a responsive template to work seamlessly across a range of platforms – desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones and includes a multimodal trip planner and local pedestrian and cycle information. Real-time transit and traffic data is integrated with social media and is invaluable, especially during the winter months.
